I recently bought one of these cute little laptops from Best Buy for about $300. My main use of it is for travel and school. The thing is tiny and light! It weighs like 2 lbs. 8 in. screen. It has an internal wireless internet card, 1 gig of RAM, 2 USB ports, ethernet port, LCD port and 2 SD card slots. It uses the Wondows XP operating system, which I like more than Vista for practicality and quickness. It only has an 8 gig flash drive for it’s internal memory, but you can add 2 SD cards which I believe they make up to 16 gig SD cards now.

    Acer Aspire One

As for the performance, I thought flash memory was fast for brining up programs and music etc… but it seems this computer takes a while to startup. About 2 mins for everything to load and ready for use. It comes with all the normal programs any laptop or desktop comes with, including the Microsoft Office programs. You can install other programs as well, like I installed Yahoo messenger on it. But programs that require a CD may be some trouble, because it does not come with a disk drive. I’m assuming you can install things like that via a USB cord from another computer. I’ve never tried it myself.

I like the style of it too. It has a full keyboard, LED lights for power, Wireless connection, memory use, num and caps lock and low battery. The touchpad is like and normal laptop except that the right and left mouse buttons are on either side of the touchpad. But it’s easy to get used to. The laptop is also very versitile. comes with a small webcam and mic. Which I though was very nifty for communication programs suh as Skype. You can also get a different model with an internal harddrive, but I’m not sure on the size(s). I’ve had the laptop for about a month or so now, and the only 2 cons I can find about it is the slow startup and if you set it on a bed or couch, it seems to overheat easily. The pros outweigh the cons I believe though. $300 for this latop is not bad at all. The small size makes it easy for travel and storage. It could easily fit in a purse or backpack.

    Acer Aspire One

So overall on a scale of 1 – 10, I would give the Acer Aspire One an 8 out of 10. It’s a very neat little machine that can keep you connected to the rest of your Tweeps or business clients, or however you would use any other computer.

Ok, so last night was a fun time. Molten core, followed by blackwing lair.

Erin got a group together for some raids, so I of course joined in. I think we had about 12 people total before we started out for MC (Molten Core). It used to be a 40 man raid for level 60’s, but most of us being lvl 80’s are close to, it was pretty easy.  You basically just go from area to area clearing out the bosses. The hardest part about this raid was trying to figure out where to go next. But luckily my buddy who has been playing WoW for a while knew the place pretty well. So we blew through it without trouble.

Now having covered MC, let’s move on to BWL (Blackwing Lair). This place is very difficult! We lose some of the people we had from MC and had about 6 or 7 for BWL. I knew how to get here, but did not know the boss fights at all. It starts out the very first confrontation is a boss fight. So you come to a room with a bunch of eggs scattered about, and to stages on either side. One stage has a dragonkin on it (the boss), the other has about 4 enemies using some kind of controlling orb. One person in your group has to use this orb and controll the dragon. While under controll, you have to use the dragon to destroy the eggs. All the while this is going on, enemies are coming out of the woodwork trying to stop it.

Being 80 this wasn’t too bad, but I can see how being lvl 60’s only would be extremely hard. So after all the eggs are destroyed, you kill the dragon you were controlling. Then after he dies, the enemies flow like water at you! I believe Erin said there were 40 orcs, 12 dragonkin, and a number of goblins. We fought for a bit, then decided to go on to the next room with all these enemies at our heels. BAD IDEA! What’s in the next room? A huge dragon with 1 million health, that’s stacks all kinds of debuffs and hits very hard. So, we wipe yet again.

When we all respawned all the adds were gone, thank goodness. There’s was just this dragon left to deal with. Basically you had to have everyone spread far apart, and casters and ranged damage as far back as possible. Because this dragon has flame breath that goes in a cone in front of it. So the tank points it away from everyone, and no one can be within 10 yards of the tank because of a cleave that does massive damage and chains to boot! So this battle with the dragon alone was very tough. Alot of us died, including myself tanking the dragon. Good thing we had a spare tank with us.

So that dragon down we move on. Had to fight a small group of 4 enemies, who were pretty tough for non bosses. One guy had 242k health, the others about 120k. So we get them easily enough, and move on. The next part was absolutley crazy! It’s a dragon hatchery, with some kind of sprayers coming out of the floor that put a crazy debuff on you. It slows movement speed by like 70% or something and slows casting speed! So we start fighting all these dragon whelps and the occasional elite dude in the mix. Crazy part is, the whelps respawn like it’s going out of style! So the whole time you’re slowly moving towards the next boss, you’re fighting whelps and elites non stop! So we go on to the boss. Some big dragonkin dude, forget the name. Basically a tank and spank. Kicks you like 50 yards away everyone and a while. When he kicks you, you go into the quickly respawning whelps. So we waste this dude and a door opens to the next room.

This is where we found out it prolly would be best to have more than 7 people. The boss’s in here completely eff your world up! The have a debuff that increases fire damage taken, and use shadowflame. The debuff stacks like 20 times and on anyone in his line of sight. So the tanks have to be rotated because the buff is so strong. This is where we had to call it quits, because it was getting late (or early) in the day. So we never got to finish this raid, but it will be done another day! We will get you Nefarion!
