Okay, so this past weekend was my Grind Hard to Level 80 party and wow – it was successful!  I had a few people helping me throughout the day – Gangstamike, Angelofevil, Darkmayhem and Nastya – and we went from 4 bars away from Level 79 all the way to Level 80 in about eight hours… With food breaks and stopping to chat with people coming into my live broadcast.

I’m not a quest fan… At all.  I’ll do them if there is an achievement involved and I’m okay with about eight-ten quests but then I just want to fall off my chair in pure agony.  Srsly.  It can sometimes be the hardest thing EVER for me!  I get bored… I want to quit… I just need some change!!  Luckily, my sweet friend Pixelated Geek, helped me get through it with words of encouragement (and some moderating of the chat session… yikes!)

When I hit 80, I squealed like a girl, jumped up and down (in my chair) and then proceeded to fall into what Nelson coined the after 80 glow (which I kept calling the Level 80 After Glow haha) then I was like huh… Now what?

So, I cleaned out my bank, handed in old quests and ran in circles in Orgrimmar.  People told me to create a new toon (NO!) and other people were congratulating me… I threw off my Dalaran celebration fireworks and then attempted to run Black Temple with a group that wiped and failed epically (sorry, it’s true!)  First night as level 80 was sort of just glowy… Didn’t go hardcore, just enjoyed the glowy-ness of it all.

Fast forward to Sunday… OMG.  When you’re 80, people ask you to do A LOT and they are srs about it all.  Holy cow. (I said holy cow again! haha) I got pulled into doing:

• Wintergrasp (which we won – YAY)
• 25 man Vault (where I found myself afterward saying, ‘psssh… I’m saved yo!’ – it seemed appropriate, believe me.)
• Alterac Valley battleground (which we won – YAY)
• Arathi Basin battleground (which we won – YAY)
• Heroic Nexus
• Heroic Drak’Tharon Keep
• Heroic Utgarde Keep
• Did the achievement where you kill the boss without letting adds hit the floor
• Changed profession from herbalism to tailoring (but kept alchemy)
• Handed in ALL quests that I had including ALL reputation items
• Got some gear upgrades
• Spent all my gold on enchants for said gear upgrades
• Ran Durnholde Keep for cloth for tailoring profession
• Nearly passed out at computer around 9AM this morning

Sooo… Level 80 is teaching me one thing.  It causes insane amounts of CRAZINESS!  People want you everywhere… It does not help people who aren’t addicted but could slowly fall into addiction and you realize, you are way under-geared, way under-knowledged and way in over your head.

I suppose my coming of age is here with a vengeance.
