OMG… Watching the intro videos to Fall Out 3 and they are already making me shiver. This game is going to be good isn’t it? Somehow, it has a Cormac McCarthy feel to it (not somehow… it makes sense!) and I do love post-apocolyptical stuff. It’s intriguing and scary and exciting all in one.
What I didn’t love about Rainbow Six Las Vegas 2 was the lack of customization… This game however is THE BOMB in terms of customizing your character… Holy cow. Haha… I said holy cow. I made a female character who actually is pretty cute… Well, as cute as Fall Out 3 allowed me to make her
Her name is… *drum roll please* Rayanna.
I started out as a baby as everyone does in Fallout 3 and I actually think this was SO smart in terms of getting you involved in the game play and learning the ropes. Most games fail epically at this – they toss you in (ie: Call of Duty) and just expect you to learn rapidly how to play the game… Fallout 3 eases you into it which eliminates the anxiety IMO.
The baby stage was easy enough to understand… Not much to do and you really only just learn some controls and set some “talent points” (sorry, WoW reference!) Once completed, you move into the nine-year old phase where you’re at your birthday and you can steal a bunch of stuff like mugs, forks, plates, glasses, etc. Why? I have no idea.
Then you go into your teenage stage where you complete the G.O.A.T exam and what’s neat here (and this carries through the entire game) is that your entire game play is changed by your choices. You can choose to be a good person or a naughty person all in how you answer questions, talk to people, etc. The G.O.A.T is no exception. This helps to determine what your particular skill set / profession will be.
I’m currently at the stage right after that… My father in-game has fled the compound and now I’m running after him. I haven’t left the underground stage yet but I am SO excited to and I can’t wait to see what awaits above ground… I heart post-apocalyptic things so hopefully this doesn’t disappoint! Although, from what I’ve seen so far… It totally won’t.
Fallout 3 is getting the nod as one of my favorite PS3 games thus far. Srsly.

I finished FO3 for PC about a week or two ago. That has to be one of the top 5 if not the best game I’ve played in years.
I played a good guy, but now I’m slowly going back through as evil. Those expansions are sounding interesting, but I still have Bioshock and Far Cry 2 sitting here to play. Maybe I’ll get them after those are done.
Fallout should keep you busy for months if you take your time.
My advice is to not do the main quest line for awhile. You can easily finish the game before you know it, and you’ll miss out on the tons of places to visit. I left the main story alone and just played out each town and their quests. When I finally got back to the main quest the game was over in a few hours. You also think there’s going to be more game to play, and them bam it’s over.

Hi there! Interestingly this is the first post ever which makes me want to go and buy a PS3! I consider myself a PC gamer, chiefly because I have always had large monitors. Guess I’m a bit of a screen real-estate junkie
The description you gave of FO3 seemed to make it come alive and appear more interesting. Couple that with the fact that you must’ve enjoyed it on PS3…
Cheers !
