You can tell I’m traveling… When I can’t console game, I end up iPhone gaming!
I downloaded this app – iMob – for the iPhone and it’s coined as the first ever MMO game for the iPhone (so basically all handheld devices because let’s face it, there isn’t anything as cool as an iPhone… Sorry!) The app basically allows you to register a character, choose a “class” and play against other people online.
My character’s name is… drum roll please… Rayanna and she’s a hustler. That’s her class. Don’t get any ideas…
A hustler means that instead of regen’ing health faster or being tougher, she’s damn good at making money… I’m gonna find a way to exploit this app like I did The Sims Online (I’ll tell you that story later…) Apparently if you download it now, you also get 30 extra points for their reputation system.
Okay, so the deal with this app is that you complete missions for money and experience, you fight other iMobbers for reputation, you can purchase weapons to increase strength and you can also purchase buildings and lots to earn an income. It has all the similar qualities of an MMO except that it’s in a really compact form.
I like the style of play and it already has addictive qualities to it. For example, you have to wait for time to elapse before you regen your energy (you need energy to complete missions, etc.) and you gain your income from your purchased buildings every 50-60 minutes. Your health decreases as you play… especially if you have people fighting you! I had one dude fight me to the point that I had to go to the emergency room… LAME!
I have to give this one some srs nods because I really do think it brings the qualities of an MMO to the smaller screen. The coolest part is that it’s portable and FREE! You can purchase reputation to use with “The Don” to get things like a henchman and $20K at a time but otherwise, all of the options are available to you at no cost.
Look me up as Rayanna on there – would love to see you fight me to the death!
